Beat the Heat! WSH Professional's Guide to Heat Stress Prevention and Management (❗with 7 SDUs)

SYNOPSIS

Rising ambient temperatures, Singapore’s high humidity, and extreme temperatures caused by climate change have elevated the risk of occupational heat stress across several industries.

Heat-related illnesses not only affect the well-being of our workers, but they also lead to productivity losses as well.

Guided by government advisories on heat stress management, this course equips Workplace Safety and Health Officers and Supervisors with the knowledge and tools to prevent and manage heat-related illness in the workplace.

The course will also incorporate free-to-use AI tools to support WSH professionals in common safety tasks such as risk assessments and advisories, explore possible technologies to beat the heat, and learn about the Singapore government’s plan for shaping a heat-resilient city.

This programme supports the continuous professional development of our safety professionals and safety appointment holders, particularly in the area of heat stress prevention and management. This course is also suitable for anyone supervising or working in environments that are exposed to heat stress hazards, such as the uniformed services, sports and outdoor recreation sectors, and even educators.
