SYNOPSIS
This course equips Workplace Safety and Health Officers and Supervisors with the practical knowledge and skills to responsibly apply artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools in workplace safety and health functions.
Participants will learn how to use free-to-use AI tools to support common safety tasks such as risk assessments, safe work procedure reviews, incident investigations, safety inspections, audits, and safety training development. Emphasis is placed on enhancing professional judgement, improving analytical quality, and reducing administrative burden — without compromising safety accountability.
The course will also cover ethical, legal and governance considerations associated with AI use, including data protection, professional responsibility, and regulatory compliance. The course will emphasise that AI should be utilised as a support tool, and final accountability remains with safety professionals.
